Name Change... 3 days to Post a Comment!
We are very seriously considering changing our name... seeing how our name is WAY too long! We are going for something (obviously) shorter, fun, and shows how we work (we are ALWAYS barefoot, unless we are wadding 6 foot tall weeds :) ) So..this is what we have come up with....
Option #1
"The Barefoot Sisters"
We like it- we are always barefoot, and we are sisters. The negatives- it has nothing to do with photography and may not show up on google searches.
Option #2
"Barefeet Portraits"
Once again, like it due to the barefeet part, and it at least states that they are portraits. That helps. However, does everyone know how to spell "portraits"? That seems to be a hard word... I'm just learning which is REALLY sad, seeing how this is what I do :)
Option #3
"Barefeet Artwork"
One of the personal favs. We are constantly advocating that we don't produce your mundane portraits you can get from those walk in photography studios in the mall.... instead we create artwork you will treasure forever and can proudly display on your wall. The negatives... is it too confusing that its artwork instead of portraits/photography?
Option #4
"Barefoot Artwork"
Pretty much the same as option #3... just another variation.
Option #5
Suck it up and get over it girls.. keep the same name.
Great because we are already established under this name. We have the shirts, cards, brochures, all business stuff done. However, IF we are going to change our name, we need to do it now before TOO many people know about us. AND.. we write this ALL the time and it gets quite annoying! We didn't even think about the SUPER long title until we started writing it 500 times a week :)
So... we want as many comments as possible. Lets see how many comments we can get in the next 3 days!!! either 2 or 5 preferably 5 but if u MUST change it then 2 gosh live wit it my beautiful sisters!!! lol ily!!
I have to agree with Jonna; ) 2 or 5, but preferably 5. You definitely want to keep some kind of "photography" related word with the name. "Barefoot Photography"...
At any rate, you will continue to be very successful: )!!

I'm probably not going to be of help...because I'm not picking any of your options...my comment is that the word "Barefoot" is easier to remember and say than "Barefeet"...so I would opt for a Barefoot Portraits...or Barefoot Photography.....I love the idea of Artwork, but I understand the logic of having something about photography in the title...

I don't think the word "barefoot" is classy nor professional enough to reflect your talents!! I understand you want something fun, but your title should also reflect your product...and your photographs are timeless images that capture the joyous energy of the moment; your pictures are future heirlooms to be treasured for generations!! I vote #5.

I vote to either keep it the same or go with "Barefoot Photography" if you want to change the name. Either way, we'll still love you!

I definently agree with Amanda P. You all are SO talented in what you do. The name you have now sounds so professional! the other names sounds like sisters getting together and having fun, which is ok, but you guys are WAY TOO GOOD for just having fun! You are all AWESOME!!! Hope this helps and not come off too strong, I guess I feel strong about it! you deserve the best!

The definition of captivating: to attract and hold by charm, beauty, or excellence. Why change when people are already held by the charm, beauty and excellence of your photography?

"Captivating time" says just excactly WHAT you DO ........ you CAPTURE that SPECIAL memory for a lifetime.

I would have to say leave it the same. Captivating Time is the perfect name and is already established and well known. Also, if you didn't say Photography at all with it everyone would know you were talking about portraits.

I say leave it the same! Captivating Time Photography may be long and a pain to write 500 hundred times a day but it is so classy and EXACTLY what you girls are doing every day with every person's life you touch! Keep up the good work regardless of the name you choose!
hey girls i love the Barefoot Sisters but that soenst really reflect what type of business you have... so how about Barefoot Photo or Barefoot Photography

Hey Girls, I wouldn't change the name...I like it...it has been working well for you obviously and once people have that association/connection with you it is hard to change. I say keep it.
I like the idea of the "Barefeet"
and "Artwork".
My ideas: #1 Barefoot Photography. Has a nice ring... could be shortened to "Barefoot" or "Barefeet '08". It tells what you do and is very different. It puts a question in the minds of people enough for them to remember the name and make them interested in finding out why the company is named that.
Option #2 Barefoot(or Barefeet) Imaging.

I like #2 or leaving it the same. Artwork does not make me think of photography. There you go--a comment from a stranger. :)
